Colorado author Michael J. Henry shares his experience riding the Colorado Trail and the tips and tricks he picked up along the way. Join him for a journey through the many - and often steep - ups and downs of one of the most challenging things a mountain biker can do: travel the entire Colorado Trail from Waterton Canyon to Durango. He will share entertaining anecdotes of his time on the CT, and how it wasn’t just an athletic endeavor - it quickly turned into a spiritual and transformational journey as well.
Michael Henry is co-founder and executive director of Lighthouse Writers Workshop, the largest independent literary arts center in the Rocky Mountain West. He is the author of three books of poetry and has received an artist fellowship from PlatteForum and a Livingston Fellowship from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. As a distance runner at the University of Rochester, he was the inaugural University Athletic Association steeplechase champion and an NCAA Division III Team All-American in cross country. An avid mountain biker since 1999, a quick peek into his garage will reveal that he currently owns six bikes.
